Acroview, a leader in chip programming solutions, has announced further expansion of its supported device portfolio alongside the release of a new version of its programming software. The company’s flagship product, the universal programming platform AP8000, has now achieved full compatibility with Nuvoton's enhanced microcontroller, the N79E8132AS16.
The N79E8132AS16 is an enhanced 8-bit 51 microcontroller (4T mode) featuring embedded 16K/8K/4K EPROM memory. It can be programmed via universal programmers, ICP programmers, and its built-in ISP functionality. The instruction set of the N79E8132AS16 is compatible with the standard 8052. Its memory includes 16K/8K/4K bytes of APROM program memory, 4K bytes of data memory, 2K bytes of LDROM, 256 bytes of direct and indirect RAM, and 256 bytes of MOVX RAM. It also offers 25 bit-addressable I/O ports, two 16-bit timers/counters, an 8-channel 10-bit A/D converter, four 10-bit PWM channels, three serial interfaces (SPI, I²C, and an enhanced UART), as well as 2-level BOD voltage detection/reset, low voltage reset (LVR), and power-on reset (POR). The N79E8132AS16 features an internal 22.1184MHz RC oscillator capable of generating 22.1184MHz or 11.0592MHz with an accuracy deviation as low as ±1%.
The N79E8132AS16 provides 14 interrupt sources with 4 interrupt levels. Its internal flash memory is electrically erasable. Once the code is finalized, users can protect their code using security bits. With wide voltage operation and rich analog and digital peripherals combined with non-volatile flash memory, the N79E8132AS16 is widely used in general control applications, DC/BLDC motor drive systems, and home appliances.

Acroview’s self-developed AP8000 universal programmer has become a benchmark professional programming solution in the industry. The system supports flexible configurable modes: single-site and up to eight-site parallel programming, as well as both online and offline operation. Dedicated programming solutions have been developed for memory devices such as eMMC and UFS. The AP8000 fully covers the programming needs of Nuvoton’s entire chip family, including both off-chip (bare die) and on-board programming. The AP8000 features an innovative modular design consisting of three core modules: the main unit, baseboard, and adapter. This design gives the device excellent compatibility and expandability. As a universal programming platform, it not only supports a wide range of programmable chips on the market but also delivers stable, high-performance operation. It serves as the core component of Acroview’s automated high-volume programming system, the IPS5800S, efficiently handling large-scale programming tasks for mass production.

The AP8000 main unit offers flexible connectivity with both USB and NET interfaces, enabling easy networking of multiple programmers. Through this networking capability, users can conveniently achieve synchronized control of multiple programmers, efficiently carrying out parallel programming operations. In terms of safety, the main unit incorporates intelligent safety protection circuits that monitor chip placement and connection status in real time. If abnormalities such as reverse insertion or short circuits are detected, the system immediately triggers a power-off protection mechanism, safeguarding the safe operation of both the chip and the programmer. Inside the main unit, a high-speed FPGA chip significantly enhances data transmission and processing efficiency, ensuring a smooth and efficient programming process. For added convenience, an SD card slot is located on the back of the main unit. Users can simply save project files generated on a PC to an SD card, insert it into the slot, and then use the programmer’s physical buttons to select, load, and execute programming operations — enabling PC‑independent operation. This design not only reduces reliance on computer hardware but also simplifies workspace setup, significantly improving operational flexibility.
In terms of expandability and compatibility, the AP8000 adopts a modular combination of baseboard and adapter board, effectively extending the functionality of the main unit. The device currently supports products from all major semiconductor manufacturers, including SK hynix, Micron, SANDISK, ASR, Kingston, and others. It supports a wide range of device types, including NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, and eMMC, and is fully compatible with industry-standard file formats such as Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, and POF, providing users with a comprehensive, all-in-one chip programming solution.
