ACROVIEW Programmer Supports MPS’s Smart Linear LED Driver MPQ76300FS-AEC1

ACROVIEW, a leader in chip programming, has officially announced the further expansion of its compatible device coverage alongside the release of a new version of its programming software. The company’s core product – the universal programming platform AP8000 – has now achieved full adaptation for MPS’s smart linear LED driver MPQ76300FS-AEC1.

The MPQ76300FS-AEC1 is a 24-channel smart linear LED driver with a rated current of up to 100mA per channel. It supports cascading of up to 32 ICs, enabling a 768-channel solution. The device is specifically optimized for animation or dynamic lighting applications. It features a 12-bit PWM dimming register and a 6-bit analog dimming register for each channel, enabling independent channel control. The 24 channels can be divided into up to 4 groups, each with independent dimming frequency and duty cycle. During PWM dimming, the rise time of LED current (ILED) and phase shift between channels are digitally configurable. The device also features a robust high-speed CAN-UART interface that supports remote across-board operation.

The MPQ76300FS-AEC1 incorporates Digital Adaptive Feedback Control (DAFC) that maximizes system efficiency and thermal performance. Its integrated 8-bit ADC samples the LED string voltage (VLED) and adjusts the output of the pre-regulator or buck regulator accordingly. The channel voltage can be minimized based on the headroom voltage.

The MPQ76300FS-AEC1 includes a Built-In Self-Test (BIST) function for self-diagnosis of key analog and logic functions. The device is developed under MPS’s advanced MPSafeTM functional safety product development process, which has been independently certified to comply with ISO 26262. Protection features include LED open and short-circuit protection, ISET pin open and short-circuit protection, and over-temperature protection (OTP). In the event of a fault, the fault indicator (/FS) is pulled low and the corresponding fault register is set. If communication is interrupted, the device enters Limp Home mode.

The MPQ76300FS-AEC1 is available in a TQFP-48 (7x7mm) package and is AEC-Q100 qualified.

The AP8000 universal programmer, independently developed by ACROVIEW, has become a benchmark professional programming solution in the industry. The AP8000 mainframe offers flexible connectivity with both USB and NET interfaces, enabling easy networking of multiple programmers. Through networking, users can conveniently achieve synchronized control of multiple programmers for efficient parallel programming operations. In terms of safety, the mainframe integrates intelligent safety protection circuits that monitor chip placement and circuit connections in real time. Once abnormalities such as reverse insertion or short circuits are detected, the system triggers an immediate power-off protection mechanism, safeguarding both the chip and the programmer. The mainframe is equipped with a high-speed FPGA that significantly boosts data transfer and processing efficiency, ensuring smooth and efficient programming. For enhanced convenience, an SD card slot is provided on the rear panel. Users simply store the project file generated on a PC to an SD card, insert it into the slot, and then use the physical buttons on the programmer to select, load, and execute programming operations – enabling standalone operation without a PC. This design not only reduces dependency on computer hardware but also simplifies workspace setup, greatly improving operational flexibility.

In terms of expandability and compatibility, the AP8000 adopts a modular baseboard and adapter board combination, effectively extending the host’s functionality. The device currently supports products from all major semiconductor manufacturers, covering leading brands such as SK hynix, Micron, SANDISK, ASR, and Kingston. Its broad device support includes NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, EMMC, and more, and it is fully compatible with industry-standard file formats including Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, and POF, providing users with a one-stop, full-scenario chip programming solution.
